Cat Art | Party Cat Poppett | Caya Crum

Cats do not attend parties so much as preside over them. Caya painted Poppett accordingly, and the cat wall art that came out of it does not argue.

Party Cat Poppett Cat Wall Art by Caya Crum

The original was cut into a wood block, pulled, and then colored by hand in watercolor, so the line carries the small irregularities that carving gives you and drawing never does. That is most of the charm. A perfectly smooth version of this cat would be a greeting card. This one is not.

It is cat wall art for people who would rather own a character than a portrait — over a reading chair, in an entryway, in a bedroom where something cheerful is permitted, or slotted into a wall of small frames. Poppett sits with the others in Cat Art, and there is a matching dog if you want the set.

Party Cat is one of three Poppetts. The set — Party Cat, Chip the Party Dog, and Ms. Squirrel & Purse — hangs as one picture of three animals with somewhere to be. Get all three as The Poppett Set, priced 20% under the singles, or add any three prints to your cart and the 20% comes off at checkout.

Product FAQ

Who is Poppett the Party Cat?

Poppett is the cat who showed up ready to celebrate. Caya Crum painted her in a loose watercolor style with the look of an old wood block print — festive without being loud.

What makes Party Cat Poppett different from other cat art prints?

The texture. Most cat art prints go cute or go weird; Poppett has a handmade, wood-block quality that feels collected rather than bought.

What room should Party Cat Poppett hang in?

She's happy in a nursery, a kid's room, a kitchen, or any spot that hosts the occasional party. Cat wall art with this much cheer earns a visible wall.

Who is Party Cat Poppett a good gift for?

New babies, birthday people, and cat lovers of every age. She's a sweeter alternative to the usual housewarming gift — original art by Caya Crum.

Will this look like an original painting or a print?

Crum Art takes the scanning and photographing of original paintings seriously — we work to capture the texture of the canvas or paper the original was created on, so that texture shows through in the print. Combined with the cotton rag paper’s own subtle surface and the hand-signing, many customers say they cannot tell if it’s an original or a print. That’s intentional. These are not flat digital reproductions — they are fine art prints that carry the soul of the original.

What sizes does this print come in?

Our fine art prints are available in standard rectangle and square sizes. Rectangles: 8x10 unframed matted to 11x14, 11x14 unframed, 16x20, 18x24, and 24x36. Squares: 8x8 unframed matted to 12x12, 12x12 unframed, 16x16, 20x20, and 24x24. Each size ships ready to frame, making it easy to find the right fit for your wall.

How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?

Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
