Horses are a foundation of Texas and American history, and they were part of daily life on both sides of our family. One side supplied General Sam Houston with horses and beef, meeting him in the Angelina Forest for the trade-off. The other side was out in Pecos, when West Texas ranching and rodeo were just coming to the forefront. So when a Crum paints a horse, it isn't a decorating decision.
