Fort Worth Forever — Tower & Sky Art by Betsy Crum
A bank of sepia-toned clouds fills the frame — soft-edged, layered, more weather than sky — and warm script runs straight across them: It has Always Been Fort Worth Forever. Betsy hands the sky nearly the whole painting. The lettering sits in it the way skywriting does, unhurried, already going soft at the edges.
Down at the bottom, small and certain, the Will Rogers tower holds the horizon — Art Deco shoulders, the vertical stack of it reading like a signature at the foot of a letter. No skyline, no streets, no crowd. One tower, one sentence, one enormous sky, and the scale says plainly which of the three is doing the promising.
That tower went up in 1936 for Fort Worth's Frontier Centennial and carries the name of Will Rogers, who had died the year before. The Stock Show has run in its shadow since 1944 — about as close to forever as a building gets around here. It's the Fort Worth sibling of Betsy's Austin Forever: same weather, same devotion, different allegiance entirely.
Forever is a strong word. Fort Worth earns it, and this print signs the paperwork.
Where It'll Work in Your House
The muted palette behaves in kitchens, bar areas, and entryways, and it's a housewarming gift that says the move is permanent. On a Cowtown gallery wall it supplies the caption for everything around it.
Questions
Whose handwriting is the script? Betsy's lettering, set into the clouds like the sky agreed to say it. The sentiment is every Fort Worthian's.
Is there an Austin version? There is — Austin Forever, same sky treatment, UT Tower instead. Split households hang both and keep the peace.
Who made it? Betsy Crum, working in Texas. Original family artwork, printed to order — more of Betsy's work here.
Swear the full oath with more Fort Worth art — the Pioneer Tower sun print shows the same tower on a softer day, and homesick Texan gifts ships the feeling anywhere.

Is this print good for a western or ranch-style living room?

How is this print made and what materials are used?
Every Crum Art print is produced on 100% cotton rag paper using archival pigment inks — the same standard used in fine art galleries. Built to last without fading, and hand-signed by the artist before it leaves our Fort Worth studio.
Can this print be part of a gallery wall?
Yes — many Crum Art prints are part of series and are designed to group together as a statement western gallery wall, or hang individually as a standalone piece. Each image is sized to fit standard frames for easy styling.
Will this look like an original painting or a print?
Crum Art takes the scanning and photographing of original paintings seriously — we work to capture the texture of the canvas or paper the original was created on, so that texture shows through in the print. Combined with the cotton rag paper's own subtle surface and the hand-signing, many customers say they cannot tell if it's an original or a print. That's intentional. These are not flat digital reproductions — they are fine art prints that carry the soul of the original.
