Caya Crum is a Fort Worth artist and a live wedding painter. She sets up at the ceremony or the reception, paints the room as it fills and the moment as it happens, and the couple keeps the finished painting — a one-of-a-kind record of the day, made by hand, in front of your guests.
It isn't only weddings. Caya live-paints events of all kinds — rehearsal dinners, birthdays, company parties, store openings, fundraisers, gallery nights and pop-ups across Fort Worth. She has live-painted for the Sid Richardson Museum's Gallery Night, with Camp Fire Girls, and for nonprofits that turn the finished piece into an auction item.

How live wedding painting works
Before the guests arrive, Caya sets up her easel where the painting will have the best view — the altar, the head table, the dance floor. As the event unfolds she paints it: the room, the light, the people in it. Guests watch the painting come together over the course of the evening, which tends to become part of the party. At the end of the night you have a painting of your wedding that nobody else on earth has.

What it costs
Live painting is priced per event, not from a menu — the date, the venue, the size of the canvas and the hours on site all move the number. Email or text Caya with the date and the place and she'll send a quote.

Do we get the painting that night?
You'll see the finished painting at the event. Whether it goes home with you that night or after final touches in the studio is something to settle with Caya when you book — it depends on the piece.
Can she paint something other than a wedding?
Yes — parties, corporate events, openings, fundraisers and gallery nights. If there's a room and an occasion, it can be painted.
Where is she based?
Fort Worth, Texas — the same studio the workshops are held in and the prints ship from. Ask her about your venue.
Does she take commissions too?
She does — pet portraits, personal portraits and custom pieces. Her finished originals are on the original paintings page, and her prints are in the Caya Crum collection.
