Carl's classic Austin: the Texas State Capitol anchoring a long panoramic collage of the signs and landmarks that made the city itself — over two hundred of them, photographed by Carl in the 1990s and early 2000s, back when half these places still had their original neon. Austin native that he is, Carl composed the city he actually knew, which makes this both a piece of Austin art and a historical document of Austin at a certain point in time.
