The boot is the famous LEDDY BOOTS sign that glows over a legendary bootmaker in the Fort Worth Stockyards, the kind of landmark people give directions by. Betsy gave it the full Warhol treatment: same boot, new mood every panel, until a piece of Cowtown signage starts behaving like a soup can. Which was always the point of pop art — take the thing everybody walks past and make them look at it nine times.
