Jack-O-Lantern Cowboy — Halloween Art by Caya Crum
A cowboy with a jack-o-lantern for a head rides a gray horse through a bare autumn wood, crescent moon overhead, his own pumpkin glowing like a second one. He has a red bandana, a harlequin saddle blanket, and a trick-or-treat bag with a smiling pumpkin on it, and he is leaving a trail of pink candy behind him in the grass. Whether that is generosity or a hole in the bag, the painting does not say.
Caya Crum painted it in gouache in the fall of 2026, and it is the gentlest kind of Halloween painting: no gore, no fright, just a headless-horseman cousin who turned out friendly and went into the candy business. It reads like vintage Halloween art, the paper-decoration kind people collect, with the western slant that runs through everything Caya makes.
A limited edition of 50
This one is not printed to order like the rest of the shop. It is a limited edition of 50 signed giclée prints at 11 x 14 inches, and when the fiftieth one leaves the studio, that is the end of it. The original gouache painting has already sold.
Where He Rides in Your House
He is Halloween wall art that does not have to come down on November 1: the oranges and browns carry straight through Thanksgiving, and plenty of people will leave him up all year beside the rest of their western art. He makes a good entryway piece for the house that hands out full-size bars, and a good gift for the friend who starts decorating in September. Product FAQ
Who is the Jack-O-Lantern Cowboy?
A cowboy with a glowing jack-o-lantern for a head, riding a gray horse through the October woods with a trick-or-treat bag and a trail of candy behind him. Caya Crum painted him in gouache in the fall of 2026 as a friendlier cousin of the headless horseman.
Is the Jack-O-Lantern Cowboy print a limited edition?
Yes. Unlike the rest of the shop, which is printed to order, this is a limited edition of 50 signed giclée prints at 11 x 14 inches. When the fiftieth one sells, no more are made. The original painting has already sold.
Is it scary? Where does Halloween art like this hang?
Not scary at all; it is vintage-Halloween sweet, more candy than fright. It suits an entryway, a kids' room, or a gallery wall beside western art, and the autumn oranges and browns let it stay up through Thanksgiving.
Who painted the Jack-O-Lantern Cowboy?
Caya Crum, a Fort Worth artist and muralist whose paintings appear on the Paramount+ series Landman. Original family artwork, this one in an edition of 50.
Will this look like an original painting or a print?
Crum Art takes the scanning and photographing of original paintings seriously — we work to capture the texture of the canvas or paper the original was created on, so that texture shows through in the print. Combined with the cotton rag paper’s own subtle surface and the hand-signing, many customers say they cannot tell if it’s an original or a print. That’s intentional. These are not flat digital reproductions — they are fine art prints that carry the soul of the original.
What sizes does this print come in?
Our fine art prints are available in standard rectangle and square sizes. Rectangles: 8x10 unframed matted to 11x14, 11x14 unframed, 16x20, 18x24, and 24x36. Squares: 8x8 unframed matted to 12x12, 12x12 unframed, 16x16, 20x20, and 24x24. Each size ships ready to frame, making it easy to find the right fit for your wall.
How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?
Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
