Night Drive Cowboy — Western Art by Caya Crum
This is Caya's early, quieter work: a night gone deep green and teal, a low dark horizon, a small moon keeping its distance. In the field, a cowboy bends beside his brown horse — checking, tending, doing the unglamorous thing good horsemen do a dozen times a night. Nobody's watching, which is exactly why it matters.
The horse reads as one warm brown mass against all that green, and the cowboy is barely more than a bent shape beside him. Caya gives the horizon almost nothing and the sky almost everything, so the two of them end up small and busy at the bottom of a very large night — which is the correct proportion, and anybody who has been out there after dark knows it.
Where It'll Work in Your House
The deep greens make it the rare western that works in a bedroom — calm, cinematic, low-light friendly. It suits a study or den the same way, and on a gallery wall it's the quiet one holding the room steady. Late suppers are its natural hour, too — the deep greens keep a dining room calm while the table gets loud. It also solves a hard shopping problem: it's near the top of the gifts for dad list for the man who doesn't want anything loud on his wall.

Pair it with Buck Shot riding into the pink for dusk and dark on one wall, or let the Ghost Cowboy hang nearby if you'd rather the night stayed strange — then rest up in cowboy art and western art.

Product FAQ
Is this from Caya's early work?
Yes — her quieter, desert-realism period, before the neon cowboys. Collectors like having both eras on one wall.
Is it dark enough for a bedroom?
It's the bedroom western — deep greens, low light, nothing loud. It makes a room easier to fall asleep in, which few cowboys can claim.
Who's Night Drive Cowboy a gift for?
The quiet ones — boyfriends, dads, and anyone who does their best thinking on a long drive home.
What hangs beside it?
Buck Shot's pink-sky departure for contrast, or the Ghost Cowboy if the night should stay strange.
Will this look like an original painting or a print?
Crum Art takes the scanning and photographing of original paintings seriously — we work to capture the texture of the canvas or paper the original was created on, so that texture shows through in the print. Combined with the cotton rag paper’s own subtle surface and the hand-signing, many customers say they cannot tell if it’s an original or a print. That’s intentional. These are not flat digital reproductions — they are fine art prints that carry the soul of the original.
What sizes does this print come in?
Our fine art prints are available in standard rectangle and square sizes. Rectangles: 8x10 unframed matted to 11x14, 11x14 unframed, 16x20, 18x24, and 24x36. Squares: 8x8 unframed matted to 12x12, 12x12 unframed, 16x16, 20x20, and 24x24. Each size ships ready to frame, making it easy to find the right fit for your wall.
How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?
Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
