Jack Sunset — the Full-Length Cowboy by Caya Crum
Jack is the only one of the cowboys Caya painted head to foot. He's out in an orange field in a deep maroon shirt and matching chaps, teal hat tipped down, blue boots planted, hands cupped at his face to light a cigarette. The sky behind him runs pink to lilac to gold, and the ground behind that is dark with a herd, dotted all the way back to the horizon.
Everything else in the series is a face on a flat color. This one's a whole evening. Jack isn't looking at you or at anything — he's taking his minute while the light goes, and the entire day's work is standing behind him waiting on him.

How much of Jack do you see?
All of him. Jack Sunset is the only cowboy in Caya Crum's series painted head to foot, boots on the ground, instead of cropped to a face and shoulders. That is why he reads so much taller on a wall than the rest of the crew.
What is Jack wearing?
A deep maroon shirt with chaps to match, a teal hat tipped down over his eyes, and blue boots. The boots are invented rather than observed. They are the only cool color anywhere in a picture otherwise made entirely of sunset, and they keep the bottom of the painting from sinking into the field.
What is going on behind him?
A herd, stippled dark across an orange field and thinning out toward a low horizon, under a sky that runs pink into lilac into gold. He is the only one of these cowboys with livestock in the frame, and the whole day's work is standing back there waiting on him to finish his cigarette.

Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
