Bluebonnets in a Texas Urn — Bluebonnet Wall Art by Betsy Crum
The urn is stone, two-handled, drawn the way a museum catalog would draw it, except the relief on the front is the outline of Texas. Out of the top comes an April fence line: bluebonnets, a red firewheel or two, the orange flick of Indian paintbrush, painted loose against a hot orange-pink ground so the blues stay cold. It is her Texas art at its most deadpan, a formal object with a joke carved in it, and it reads from across a dining room.

What is in the urn?

What is on the urn?
The outline of Texas, carved into the front of the stone like a maker's mark. It is Betsy's running joke about what counts as classical.
Where does the bluebonnet urn print hang?
A dining room or entryway where a formal-looking piece is welcome but a serious one is not. It also holds a mantel.
How is it different from the Lone Star amphora?
Same family, different pot. The amphora has a star; this one has the state, and a fuller spray of flowers.
Will this look like an original painting or a print?

How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?
Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
