Griff's Hamburgers Sign — Texas Roadside Art by Betsy Crum
Betsy shot the sign small and low in the frame, leaving most of the picture to a sky she pushed from cream at the horizon up through pink to lavender. That proportion is the whole idea: the sign is the size it is in your memory, which is not very big, and the sky is the size Texas skies actually are. The red HAMBURGERS banner, the yellow-and-red GRIFF'S script, the little Take It Easy at the bottom, all of it reads at once and then gives way to the weather.

What is Griff's?
A drive-in hamburger chain that has been feeding small-town Texas since the sixties, red-and-yellow sign and all. If you grew up near one, you already know the smell.
Is the sky real?
The sign is a photograph. The sky is Betsy's, pushed to a pink-to-lavender gradient so the sign floats in it the way a memory does.
Where does the Griff's print hang?
A kitchen, a breakfast nook, a diner-style bar, or an office wall for somebody who misses home.
Is this an official Griff's product?
No. It is an artist's tribute to a sign, not affiliated with the restaurant.
Will this look like an original painting or a print?

How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?
Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
