JY Crum stands with his dark horse in front of a Weatherford-area barn, caught in classic black-and-white. Born in Pecos, he ranched near Tin Top, helped start the Parker County Sheriff's Posse, and lived fast enough to leave a legend behind by forty-one. The photograph comes straight from the family archives — the barn, the horse, and the man exactly as they were.
