Topo Chico with Wings — Butterfly Wall Art by Betsy Crum
One Topo Chico bottle, floating in a painterly light-blue sky with the clouds swirled around it like meringue. White wings spread from either side of the glass, and a radiant yellow sun sits directly above the neck — exactly where a halo would go. Betsy maintains the sun placement was a coincidence. Nobody in the family believes her, and the Texas sky paintings she'd been doing all summer suggest she knew precisely where that sun was headed.
Around the studio this one has always gone by "holy water," which is just how Texans talk about Topo Chico when it's the last cold one in the ice chest. Call it whimsical wall art, call it guardian angel art for people whose guardian angel is carbonated — either way it's the same bottle you already own twelve of, finally getting the sky it deserves. If you like your Topo with more horizon than heaven, its sister painting puts the bottle against a West Texas sunset instead.
Where It'll Work in Your House
It was born for the kitchen — over the coffee corner, next to the fridge that's already stocked, anywhere it can bless the limes. It does holy work over a bar cart, and because the painting runs vertical, it slides into the wall slots most art can't touch: the end of a hallway, the powder bath that needed one good joke. More company for it in kitchen wall art.
Betsy Crum, working in Texas. Original family artwork, printed to order — the rest of Betsy's paintings live here. The Made in Mexico bottles keep their feet on the ground and tell the label's whole story — this one got the promotion.
Next time you'd usually show up at somebody's door with flowers, show up with this. Flowers wilt; Topo ascends. It's the hostess gift that gets hung instead of composted, it's made for the friend who lists Topo Chico as a personality trait, and the rest of the congregation is pouring in Drink Up Texas.

Product FAQ
What is happening in this Topo Chico print?
A single green bottle floats in a light-blue sky with the clouds swirled around it like meringue. White wings open on either side of the glass and a round yellow sun sits directly above the neck.
Is the yellow circle a sun or a halo?
Betsy says sun. It lands squarely over the bottle's neck, which is where halos go, and the wings do nothing to help her argument. Viewers are free to decide for themselves.
Why do Texans get sentimental about Topo Chico?
It is the bubbliest thing in the ice chest and the one everybody reaches for last, which means it is the one worth fighting over. Around the studio this painting has always gone by holy water.
Which direction does this print hang?
Vertical. The whole composition points upward — sky above, wings out, sun crowning the neck — so it fits the narrow wall at the end of a hall or beside a doorway where nothing else will.
Will this look like an original painting or a print?
Crum Art takes the scanning and photographing of original paintings seriously — we work to capture the texture of the canvas or paper the original was created on, so that texture shows through in the print. Combined with the cotton rag paper’s own subtle surface and the hand-signing, many customers say they cannot tell if it’s an original or a print. That’s intentional. These are not flat digital reproductions — they are fine art prints that carry the soul of the original.
What sizes does this print come in?
Our fine art prints are available in standard rectangle and square sizes. Rectangles: 8x10 unframed matted to 11x14, 11x14 unframed, 16x20, 18x24, and 24x36. Squares: 8x8 unframed matted to 12x12, 12x12 unframed, 16x16, 20x20, and 24x24. Each size ships ready to frame, making it easy to find the right fit for your wall.
How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?
Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
