Austin Quote Wall Art by Betsy Crum
Black letterpress capitals over a weathered Texas flag, printed on cream that looks scraped rather than painted. Austin is Barton Springs at sixty-eight degrees in February and a line of people willing to get in anyway. It is breakfast tacos eaten standing up, cedar fever every January that everyone insists is not allergies, and I-35 doing what I-35 does. It is also the greenbelt going bone dry by August and filling back up in one afternoon of rain. The colors here are faded on purpose — a flag left out on a porch on the east side, not something new off a rack.
It looks right in a kitchen, an entry, or over a record shelf. The rest of the city is in Austin art prints, and it hangs comfortably with the other Texas quote prints.
Original family artwork by Betsy Crum, printed to order.

Product FAQ
What does the flag in the background mean here?
It's a weathered Texas flag, faded like one left out on a porch — the piece treats Austin as its own well-worn take on the state, not something new off a rack.
Is this better in a public room or a private one?
It carries an entry or kitchen easily, and it settles in over a record shelf — the spots where the letterpress look gets read daily rather than just glanced at.
Besides housewarmings, when does this get given?
Goodbyes, mostly — friends leaving Austin who need it on the far wall of wherever they land. Graduations and first-apartment moves round it out.
Is this part of a larger series?
Yes — it belongs to a 13-print State of Mind series covering Texas cities. The Fort Worth State of Mind print is a favorite companion for anyone splitting their heart between towns.
Will this look like an original painting or a print?
Crum Art takes the scanning and photographing of original paintings seriously — we work to capture the texture of the canvas or paper the original was created on, so that texture shows through in the print. Combined with the cotton rag paper’s own subtle surface and the hand-signing, many customers say they cannot tell if it’s an original or a print. That’s intentional. These are not flat digital reproductions — they are fine art prints that carry the soul of the original.
What sizes does this print come in?
Our fine art prints are available in standard rectangle and square sizes. Rectangles: 8x10 unframed matted to 11x14, 11x14 unframed, 16x20, 18x24, and 24x36. Squares: 8x8 unframed matted to 12x12, 12x12 unframed, 16x16, 20x20, and 24x24. Each size ships ready to frame, making it easy to find the right fit for your wall.
How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?
Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
