The piece is a weathered Texas shape carrying the flag — dusty blue field, cream and faded brick-red bars, a white star worn thin — over a cream, chalky, scraped-plaster ground, with heavy black letterpress capitals across it. Frio means cold, and the river is not being poetic about it: it is spring-fed, it is clear down to the gravel, and it will take the wind out of you in the middle of August. Bald cypress lean out over the water with their roots exposed. US 83 bends along with the river between limestone bluffs. Down the road at Garner they have been dancing on the concrete under the pavilion on summer nights since the 1940s, and if you climb Old Baldy early you can see the whole green line of the valley. Cell service is bad. The cabins book a year out, and it is the same families every July, on the same bend, in the same shallow spot.
It belongs in a river house, a lake house, or a hallway of Texas places — the rest of the region is in Texas Hill Country art, and it hangs well with the other travel art prints.

Where is Concan and why does it get a print?
It is a bend in the Frio River in the Hill Country, barely a town, and the one people plan an entire year around. Frio means cold and the river is not being poetic about it.
Does it belong in a cabin?
Cabins, river houses, lake houses, and hallways of Texas places. The chalky cream ground keeps it easy in a room full of cedar and old furniture.
Who is it for besides the family that goes every July?
Whoever books the cabins usually gets one as a thank-you. It also turns up as a housewarming for people who used to go and have not managed to get back.
What else is in the Hill Country set?
New Braunfels is the obvious partner, and the wider Hill Country work covers the rest of the river country.

How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?
Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
