The neon Pegasus rides high on its perch above the Magnolia Building, small and red and certain, with an enormous teal sky going soft cream behind it. That's the way Dallas actually sees its horse — from below, from blocks away, from I-30 at dusk — a landmark you measure the whole skyline by.
Every city gets one perfect symbol if it's lucky. Dallas got a flying red horse, and never needed another.

What is the Dallas Pegasus? The flying red horse that has topped the Magnolia Building since 1934 — once the tallest thing in town, and for generations the first thing travelers saw of Dallas at night. The city restored it for the 2000 New Year, and it still flies.
Is this the original sign? It's the rooftop Pegasus as you see it today, neon-red against the weather. The 1934 original was restored and now stands downtown outside the Omni Dallas — the rooftop carries the torch.
