Ranch Style Beans Can — Funny Kitchen Art by Betsy Crum

Betsy drew the can once, flat and plain, the way Warhol would have if he had grown up on Camp Bowie Boulevard instead of in Pittsburgh. Then she ran it through sixteen palettes. Pink on teal, cyan on black, peach, hot pink, a plain black-and-white for the people who think pop art is supposed to be quiet. The lettering never changes. The can never changes. Only the mood does, which is most of what a kitchen wall is asking for.

Hang it as kitchen wall art over the coffee station, or pair two colorways across a breakfast nook. It sits next to the nine-can Ranch Style grid and Caya's sketchbook version without repeating either. More of the pantry in Kitchen Wall Art and Texas food pop art.

Betsy Crum, who has eaten more of these than she will admit. Original family artwork, printed to order; the rest of her kitchen is in her collection.

Product FAQ

What are Ranch Style Beans?

A Texas pantry staple since the 1930s, cooked in Fort Worth for most of that time. The black can with the cream lettering is as recognizable in a Texas kitchen as a Dr Pepper bottle.

How many colors does the Ranch Style Beans print come in?

Sixteen. Pick the colorway from the second set of buttons; every one is the same single-can drawing by Betsy Crum with the palette swapped.

Is this the same as the Ranch Style Beans grid print?

No. The grid print is nine cans Warhol-style. This is one can, big, in the color you choose.

Where does a Ranch Style Beans print hang?

Kitchen, pantry door, breakfast nook, or a dorm kitchenette. The loud colorways do well in a bar area; the black-and-white ones suit a quieter kitchen.

Will this look like an original painting or a print?

Crum Art takes the scanning and photographing of original paintings seriously — we work to capture the texture of the canvas or paper the original was created on, so that texture shows through in the print. Combined with the cotton rag paper’s own subtle surface and the hand-signing, many customers say they cannot tell if it’s an original or a print. That’s intentional. These are not flat digital reproductions — they are fine art prints that carry the soul of the original.

What sizes does this print come in?

Our fine art prints are available in standard rectangle and square sizes. Rectangles: 8x10 unframed matted to 11x14, 11x14 unframed, 16x20, 18x24, and 24x36. Squares: 8x8 unframed matted to 12x12, 12x12 unframed, 16x16, 20x20, and 24x24. Each size ships ready to frame, making it easy to find the right fit for your wall.

How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?

Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
