Bluebonnet art usually gets a whole roadside; Caya gave the state flower a quilt block, where it has to follow the rules.

Bluebonnet Art Quilt Square by Caya Crum

A quilt block is a set of rules — repeat, rotate, fill the square — and the flower obeys every one of them here. What comes out reads less like a field you pull over for and more like something folded in a chest at the foot of a bed. The bluebonnet is handled as pattern rather than as scenery. It is a cooler way to be sentimental about Texas, and it holds its own on a wall the whole year round.

There is a second quilt-square painting in the shop built on cowboy boots; this one is the flowers. As bluebonnet art it fits places a wide landscape cannot — beside a door, in a guest room, on a stair landing — and it holds up as texas wall art for anybody living out of state and missing April. More of them in Bluebonnet Wall Art, and more from the artist in Caya Crum art.

Product FAQ

Why bluebonnets in a quilt square?

Two Texas heirlooms in one image: the state flower and the folk-art quilt block. Neither needs explaining to a Texan.

Is there another quilt square print?

Yes — one built on cowboy boots. Same structure, different subject, and the two hang as a pair.

Where does this quilt art hang?

Beside a door, in a guest room, on a stair landing — places a wide bluebonnet landscape cannot fit. Grandmillennial and folk-art rooms take it naturally.

Who is the Bluebonnet Quilt Square a good gift for?

Texans out of state missing April, quilters, and grandmillennial decorators — a hostess or Thanksgiving gift with the story built in.

Will this look like an original painting or a print?

Crum Art takes the scanning and photographing of original paintings seriously — we work to capture the texture of the canvas or paper the original was created on, so that texture shows through in the print. Combined with the cotton rag paper’s own subtle surface and the hand-signing, many customers say they cannot tell if it’s an original or a print. That’s intentional. These are not flat digital reproductions — they are fine art prints that carry the soul of the original.

What sizes does this print come in?

Our fine art prints are available in standard rectangle and square sizes. Rectangles: 8x10 unframed matted to 11x14, 11x14 unframed, 16x20, 18x24, and 24x36. Squares: 8x8 unframed matted to 12x12, 12x12 unframed, 16x16, 20x20, and 24x24. Each size ships ready to frame, making it easy to find the right fit for your wall.

How do I make a gallery wall with art prints?

Start with an anchor piece and build outward — many Crum Art prints are part of series designed to group together as a statement gallery wall, or hang individually as standalone pieces. Since every image is sized to fit standard frames, mixing sizes is easy: lay the arrangement out on the floor first, keep about two to three inches between frames, and center the whole grouping at eye level.
